This outstanding new build family home was designed by Ellisdon Architectural Associates to site sympathetically with the existing characteristics of the sites context. The orientation and hierarchy of the views from the windows had to be carefully considered which strongly influenced the overall design and aesthetic. The site is located in the countryside so careful thought about character size and massing had to be carefully considered. The finished design is a blend of a traditional chalet style living with a contemporary selection of finishes and large amounts of glazing. The main feature is the extensive glazing within the kitchen and master bedroom gable. The master bedroom gable incorporates an integral balcony with an extended roof over hang which inherently acts as solar shading whilst also providing an attractive and distinct feature. Ellisdon Architectural Associates provided the full construction package to allow construction to begin.
